2025 Old Town Art Fair – Chicago

YES! We’re glad you asked. There are two DIFFERENT art events in Old Town! They are both held the second weekend of June and are just a few blocks from each other. It’s very confusing, we know.

The Original Old Town Art Fair is a Fine Art Fair located in the historic Old Town Triangle District just north of North Avenue (you know, where all the quaint houses and gardens are “back in the neighborhood part”).

Our great neighbors and friends down the street host the Wells Street Art Festival just south of North Avenue on Wells Street. (you know, where all the bars and restaurants are “right along Wells Street”).
Both events are a lot of fun, have their own vibe and personality, styles of art and types of music. It’s a great weekend to be in Old Town, that’s for sure! These are two different and distinct events. Separate donations are requested at each event. Click here to see where the proceeds from the Old Town Art Fair go.
Well, technically you can, and plenty of people do. But we don’t recommend it. We love dogs here in Old Town (it’s a requirement for living here!) but we know the weather and crowds can be tough on our little pals and encourage you to leave them at home where they’ll be much more comfortable.

And don’t forget, there is a lot of fragile art here too! Wagging tails and Fine Art can be a bad combination.
We definitely recommend public transportation, if possible. Don’t forget, there are two big art events in Old Town on the same weekend. There will be many street closures, lots of traffic and parking will be scarce. The good news is that there are plenty of nearby buses and trains that service the Old Town area.

The following streets will be closed Friday, June 7, 2023 at 7:00 am through Monday, June 10, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Signs will be posted as NO PARKING – TOW ZONE. Towing will begin Friday morning.

Lincoln: West side of street from 1900 to 1920
Lincoln Park West: Lincoln to Menomonee
Menomonee: Sedgwick to Crilly Court
North Park: Menomonee to Eugenie
Orleans: Eugenie to Willow & Wisconsin to Menomonee

Yes, as a matter of fact it is! The Old Town Triangle Association (OTTA) is a community-based, not-for-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents who live in the Old Town Triangle – and it’s the founding organization and parent of the Old Town Art Fair. You’ll also find it’s a lot of fun and a great way to meet new friends – and, well, contagious!
A popular event called “Old Town Holiday” was started in 1950 by the Old Town Triangle Association. Artistic residents were invited to display their work — much of it was hung on fences back then. Twenty-five cent donations were collected to raise money for improved living, working and recreational conditions in the area. There were a few others before us but we think we are still the best.
